Boston University in the US hosts a Ta’zieh performance with international actors staging Imam Hussein’s (AS) Karbala incident in English.
According to a local media report, ‘Between Two Rivers’ Ta'zieh directed by Nikoo Mamdoohi was recently performed at the Boston University.
This comes as the play premiered at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the US some time in April with very good feedback from the community.
Ta’zieh is inspired by the Iranian-Islamic traditions on the mourning month of Muharram and the commemoration of Imam Hussein's (AS) martyrdom anniversary on Ashura, the tenth day of Muharram. The Persian passion play is a kind of indigenous form in the Iranian works of drama and play.
